Container Terminal Within Giurgiu Free Zone

In Giurgiu Free Zone a terminal of intermodal transfer of 20′ and 40′ containers has been set up.

Economic agents importers, of whom goods are brought in containers within the terminals from Constanta Port, have the possibility to resort to water transport from Constanta to Giurgiu Free Zone, profiting from low transportation costs.

Economic agents  exporters, who are exporting goods trough Constanta Port, have the possibility of containers transport to Giurgiu Free Zone, RR (rail road) or by road, and from here to be transferred on vessels and transported to the sea terminals from Constanta (CSCT-Agigea, MAERSK, SOCEP, UMEX).

We have the capability to carry the following service package:

I. Services carried for containers having as destination Giurgiu Free Zone :

OPERATION DESCRIPTION

  1. Taking over full container, from Constanta and loading into the barge for transportation to Giurgiu Free Zone.
  2. Container transport with barge from Constanta to Giurgiu Free Zone.
  3. Unloading container from vessel on the Giurgiu Free Zone’s quay.
  4. Container transport from quay to the gate yard of the Giurgiu Free Zone. (The allowed time for the stationing of the 40” container for unloading at the yard is of maximum 6 hours from the beneficiary’s request of the container disposal)
  5. Taking over of the empty container from the gate yard.
  6. Transport to the Free Zone’s quay for loading on the barge.
  7. Transport of empty container from Giurgiu Free Zone in the ConstantaTerminal.
  8. Unloading empty container from barge, within the Constanta Terminal.

OPERATION DESCRIPTION

    1. Taking over full container, from Constanta and loading into the barge for transportation to Giurgiu Free Zone.
    2. Container transport with barge from Constanta to Giurgiu Free Zone.
    3. Unloading container from vessel on the transport mean.
    4. Container transport from the Giurgiu Free Zone’s quay to the destination in Bucharest.
    5. Taking over empty container from the consignee and transportation to the Giurgiu Free Zone’s quay.
    6. Loading empty container from the quay to the barge.
    7. Empty container transportation from the Giurgiu Free Zone to the Constanta Terminal.
    8. Unloading empty container from barge within the Constanta Terminal.

Note: 1. The order for the transportation on truck shall indicate the date and time the truck is requested to be at the beneficiary disposal and will be sended with at least 24 hours before the requested date/hour.
Note 2. The due time for caring the custom formalities and unloading is of 24 hours calculated from the moment of loading the container on truck within terminal until the unloading of goods to the beneficiary storage.
Note 3. The transportation cost is available for maximum 20 tones goods on container, failing in this clause by the loader will attract the full responsibility of the beneficiary concerning ulterior damages to the carrier due to exceeding of maximum permitted weight from container.

II. Services carried for containers with other destinations :

  1. Taking over full/empty container, from Constanta and loading on barge for transportation at the Giurgiu Free Zone.
  2. Container transport with barge from Constanta to Giurgiu Free Zone.
  3. Unloading container from vessel to the Giurgiu Free Zone’s quay.
  4. Transport of full/empty container to storage yard.
  5. Taking over container from the storage platform, loading on auto transport mean or RR (rail-road).
  6. Taking over full/empty container from the storage platform or auto/RR transport mean and loading on barge.
  7. Transport of full/empty container from the Giurgiu Free Zone to Constanta Terminal.
  8. Unloading full/empty container from barge, within Constanta Terminal.

We have the capability to supply container transport with river vessels from the Constanta terminals to Giurgiu Free Zone and return on profitably conditions.

Every week a transport is carried; on Friday, the vessel loaded with containers is departing from Constanta Terminal, and starting with Sunday could be delivered to you, our company carrying non-stop program services.
Every Thursdays the vessel loaded with full/empty containers is departing from Giurgiu Free Zone, and starting with Wednesday the containers being loaded on the maritime lines. Based on the containers and registered requests volume, we have possibility to perform additional trips.

In our offer regarding the service package for container transport on water from Constanta Terminal to Giurgiu Free Zone the transit formalities from Constanta to Giurgiu Free Zone are comprised.

On request, depending on the container number, we have the possibility to carry additional trips.

The services that we carry within Giurgiu Free Zone are performed in currency, according to Law no. 84/1992, with the amendments and modifications of the Law no. 244/2004, on the invoice being written the amount in Lei, calculated at the currency of the invoiced date.

The payment of the invoice is made on free convertible currency accepted by the National Bank of Romania (B.N.R.) in basis of the currency Regulation approved by the B.N.R.

The necessary documents for the fulfillment of the transit formalities from Constanta are: cargo-manifest, the document by whom you inform us in regard to the merchandise to be transported container numbers, the estimated date of the arrival of the containers in Constanta Port and the date needed to be shipped, eventually the invoice of the goods from the container.

At the take over of the containers from the Constanta Sud Agigea Terminal, during the transit transport until Giurgiu Free Zone and during the stationing within the free zone, no custom taxes, V.A.T., and other import custom duties are to be paid.

The Giurgiu Free Zone Port

1 . LOCATION:

– vertical quay of 217 m length, could moor/berth simultaneously 3 barges of 70 m length each

– 1 quay gantry crane of 50/25 t x 25/35 m

– 2 quay gantry cranes of 15/8 t x 23/36 m, the secondary in function from 01.09.2006

– 1 reach stacker of 45 t that could handle 40 ft containers up to 12 m height

– 6 motor trucks/piler with the maximum lifting capacity up to 3 t each

– 2 platforms for internal transportation of 60 t each

3. OPERATION CAPACITIES:

a) Containers: 100 pcs. T/8 hours on one berth

b) General goods:

• Palatalized  500 t / 8 hours on berth; 1000 t / 8 hours on two berths starting with 01.09.2006

• Bulk  400 t / 8 hours on one berth; 800 t / 16 hours on one berth

– normal 16 hours / working day
